It is the first temple in Malbork that was built outside the castle walls. The beginnings of the building date back to the 13th century. During the Thirteen Years' War in the years 1457-1460 it was demolished. A new one was built on old foundations from 1467 to 1523. In 1635, the western span was destroyed by an explosion of a mine. The temples were rebuilt in 1668. It was again destroyed during World War II. The roof, tower and bell were irreparably damaged. Only the neo-Gothic altar survived. At the beginning of 1945, renovation works began. The temple was consecrated on May 2, 1945. by priest Konrad Willa. In 1957, Fr. the bishop gave the church of St. John the Assembly of Orionists.
