Address: ul. Katedralna 1 , 82-500 Kwidzyn
The Kwidzyn Castle is a large castle and cathedral complex, which includes both a defensive cathedral and a castle. This object is modeled on Teutonic castles. It is a four-winged building with an internal cloister courtyard. It has a characteristic tower, the largest in the Teutonic state of the defensive nature, located 55 meters from the castle and directly connected to it by a long porch. A gdanisko added to the west facade of the castle, connected to the castle by a porch supported by 5 high arcades. On the northern part of the building there is a well tower connected by two arcades with a castle, the so-called '' small gdanisko ''. The greater part of the castle building dates from the first half of the fourteenth century, originally it was built in 1322 and was once the seat of the college of canons of the Pomezanian diocese. The interiors of the building were rebuilt several times for the needs of offices located here for years, and in 1855-1875 the building underwent a comprehensive reconstruction. Currently, it houses a museum.
