Until 2010, it operated under the name Pomeranian Military Museum. It presents military exhibits showing the history of Pomerania and Kuyavia since 1918, including collections of equipment and weapons for infantry and mechanized troops. The facility continues the activity of the pre-war military museum located in the School of Officers for NCOs in Bydgoszcz (today's POW Command complex). The institution's beginnings date back to 1973. The Museum of Traditions of the Pomeranian Military District was opened then, which operated until 1989. In 1922, it became a scientific and research institution, while on December 31, 2003 it was transformed into the Pomeranian Military Museum in Bydgoszcz. In 2010, it changed its name to the Land Forces Museum with branches in Toruń and Wrocław. The current Museum building is located at ul. Czerkaska in Bydgoszcz. It was created according to the design of the architect Zbigniew Kortas in 1973. Permanent and temporary exhibitions are presented. The main permanent exhibition is divided into groups. Contains, among others, exhibitions: The Polish Army in the era of national uprisings of the 18th-19th centuries, Greater Poland Uprising, Garrison Bydgoszcz 1920-1939 - infantry, armored vehicles, artillery and cavalry, navy, sappers, airmen, military schools, battle painting gallery, Polish Armed Forces West, Polish Army in the USSR 1943-1945, etc. Temporary exhibitions are mainly associated with the history of the military and the region, and commemorate the anniversaries of great events, e.g. the anniversary of the end of World War II, the uniform and weapon of a Polish soldier in 1939-1945, general Władysław Anders and his soldiers etc. The facility is open: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: from 9.00 to 15.45 and Saturday and Sunday: from 10.00 to 14.45.
