This castle was built in the Gothic style by the Teutonic Order in the first half of the 14th century in the place of the stronghold of Pomeranian dukes. It is worth mentioning that it was the only water castle in the Teutonic state. The most important distinguishing feature were four once very tall, round towers crowned with machicolation. Only one tower and walls of the north wing survived the demolition. He was besieged in 1410. In the second half of the 16th century it was rebuilt in the Renaissance style. It was significantly damaged during the Swedish wars in the 17th century and was not rebuilt. From 1859, work began to protect the ruin, and a partial reconstruction of the castle took place after World War II. Of the preserved walls, only the tower was in a good technical condition and served the Waterways Department, as in the times of the Prussian partition, to observe the Vistula and signal the impending flood danger. Despite the bricked-in entrances, the headquarters and the depot of the thief was found in the preserved rooms of the tower's underground. In 2008, the castle area was protected as a Natura 2000 SAC with an area of 17.5 ha. The main purpose of protection is the bat mop, which hibernates here.
